Shelter Bay Marina

Located at the Western Caribbean entrance to the Panama Canal, Shelter Bay Marina is a very well protected, “Full service” marina with slips for superyachts (up to 320’ LOA) and deep draft vessels. – 20’ draft in the channel and 10’ on many slips. The unspoiled natural ‘jungle’ setting of this marina is stunning and the marina’s location is surrounded with controlled access through a manned security gate and 24/7 security - ensuring peace of mind for yachting clients to enjoy the local surroundings.

The opening of the ‘Atlantic’ bridge (over the Panama Canal from Colon) has significantly improved land accessibility to Shelter Bay Marina. Due to high demand, the management team have carried out many upgrades to the amenities, buildings and grounds to accommodate more land-based visitors as well as marina guests.

Marina facilities include 120/240 and 480 volt power, potable water, pump out service, fuel bunkering, provisioning service, well-stocked chandlery and sail loft. The adjacent boatyard offers a full range of technical and engineering services and is serviced by a 100 ton Travelift.

Aside from extensive marine facilities, The ‘Marina Hotel’ offers guests a unique and comfortable retreat in an ideal location to experience the historical and natural beauty of Colon. Be sure to ask the marina for transportation to Colon or Panama City! The ‘Dock Restaurant’ also comes highly recommended with a Caribbean inspired menu and serves fresh, locally sourced ingredients. In addition, they have recently redeveloped the swimming pool and built a fully equipped gym, next to the docks.

For boats transiting the Panama Canal, Shelter Bay Marina offer a rental service of lines, fenders etc. whereby boats can rent equipment and return it to marinas on the Pacific side of the canal. Please contact in advance for this service.
