BUDVA

One of the Adriatic’s oldest settlements - founded in 500 BC by Cadmus the Phoenician, an exiled hero from Thebes, Greece - Budva is now Montenegro’s busiest tourist and party destination and is highly developed. The original old town co-exists with the new modern town, comprised mainly of low-rise condos. There are many outdoor bars in the summer and a popular Adriatic party destination: The Stones, Madonna and Lenny Kravitz have all played Jaz Beach, just beyond town. There is a large modern marina here.
